Getting to the Studio

If you are travelling with public transport
The nearest metro station is Hakaniemi. There are elevators and escelators from the platform up to street level. The closest entrance/exit (E) to the studio is Siltasaarenkatu. From this area to the studio, the street surface is mostly smooth asphalt with no large slopes and the pavement is relatively wide. The nearest tram and bus stops are also located on Siltasaarenkatu.

Studio Entrance
The entrance to the studio is on the ground floor of Pitkänsillanranta 17. The pavement area outside is smooth asphalt and there is a small step at the bottom of the door which measures 4 centimetres high from the pavement, and 7 centimetres high from the studio floor inside.

The front door to the studio can be held open with a small latch on the right hand side, your artist can also attach this for you if you require a bit more time to get through the door. The door frame measures 84 centimetres wide and 222 centimetres high.​
Inside the studio
​
Our studio is in an old building so unfortunately we are limited in what we are allowed to change to make our studio completely accessible. Inside there are three doorways which lead to different areas of the studio. These do not have doors or doorframes. They measure 93 - 100 centimetres in width and 198 - 210 centimetres in height.

The floor throughout the studio is smooth tile and is heated fron underneah during the colder months.

The bathroom at the studio has a raised doorframe along the floor which measures 5 centimetres in height. The bathroom door measures 71 centimetres wide and 203 centimetres high. The floor space is quite small and the toilet is quite close to the sink.
​
The light comes on automatically when the door is opened and the sink has a fawcet which needs to be gently lifted to use. We have both cloth hand towels on hooks directly next to the sink or paper hand towels which are available from a dispenser above the toilet.
