How to book a tattoo

02/ payment & appointment date

Once we have enough information, we'll be able to give you an overall price. You'll need to pay a non-refundable deposit (usually  50 - 150€) to secure an appointment date/time and for the design work to begin. Please make sure you read our terms and conditions when paying your deposit.

You can pay the deposit via the online Shop or in following ways:
MobilePay
PayPal
Bank Transfer
Cash at the studio

03/ design

Your chosen artist will draw your tattoo design and send it over to you (if you request it), usually via email, a day or two before your appointment. This gives us enough time to talk about what parts you like/don't like or to change colours etc.

We will never directly copy another artist's work, but we are more than happy to draw you a bespoke piece based on examples of artwork that you like.

04/ tattoo time!

We'll ask you to read and sign a consent form, then prepare your stencil. Once this is in the right position, we can start tattooing!
We'll make sure you're as comfortable as possible and we can take breaks whenever you like. We always recommend you bring something to eat and a sugary drink with you, we also sell some snacks at the studio.

Once your tattoo is complete, you can pay the remainder of the total price. We'll also give you some aftercare instructions so you can make sure you look after your new tattoo correctly.

FAQ

  • Are your inks safe for vegans?
Yes! We only use World Famous Ink and I Am Ink, which contain no animal products and are never tested on animals. You can get more information on their product here.  All of our inks are REACH-Compliant, vegan inks.

  • I have scars/stretch marks - can these be tattooed over?
In most cases, yes. Please read the Cover-Ups page for more information. You're also always welcome to come to the studio so we can have a look at the area you'd like tattooed and we can discuss some ideas. We can discreetly take a look at the area you'd like tattooed and we'll always make sure you're nice and comfortable when you come in for a consultation or a tattoo.

  • Will my tattoo hurt?
Pain is different for everyone and it does depend on the area you're having tattooed and how long the tattoo takes. Lots of people describe it as a scratchy kind of pain. We are always very honest with clients when they ask about this, so if it's something you're worried about, get in touch and we can talk it through :) Some clients take painkillers such as ibuprofen and paracetamol to take the edge off. A new option we have is adding on a pain relieving massage to your appointment.

  • What is the studio like? Can I visit before my appointment?
Our studio located close to Hakaniemi, on Siltasaari. It's clean, private and we make excellent cups of tea! It's a nice, easy-to-find studio with three tattoo artists and our apprentice. The studio has a chilled out atmosphere and we have fresh coffee, tea, candy and good music. You're more than welcome to drop in to say hi and ask any questions.

  • How do I look after my tattoo after I've had it done?
We will give you verbal and written aftercare after your tattoo is finished, and you can check out the Aftercare page for lots of useful information. You can also send us a message if you have any questions or concerns about your tattoo after you go home.

  • Where is your studio?
The studio is located five minutes walk from Hakaniemi Metro station. The tram and several bus stops are also here. You can also easily walk to our studio from the city centre, it takes roughly 10 - 15 minutes (we are just on the other side of the 'long bridge'.
    The full address is:

  • How much does it cost for a tattoo?
This depends on the size, style, placement and how long the tattoo is likely to take. Please contact us to discuss your ideas and we'll be able to give you a quote, with no pressure to book. We also offer cheaper half-day and full-day rates if you're having something large scale done, and discounts for returning clients.

  • Do you do all styles of tattoo at the studio or just watercolour?
We have four permanent artists working at the studio and they do everything from fine-line to traditional. We also host guest artists who specialise in other areas. If we don't offer the style you like, we are always more than happy to point you towards other studios who do.

  • I want an underboob/ass tattoo, will I have any privacy at the studio or will people see everything?
If we are aware that you're having a more private area tattooed, we can arrange to have a screen around the tattooing station. If you're very worried about privacy, we can arrange other solutions such as a private appointment. Please mention this when you're booking and we'll do our best to help.

  • I'm not a customer at your studio but I've run out of aftercare cream, can I buy some from you?
Yes! You don't have to be our customer to get aftercare products from us. We are open more days so if you have an emergency and have run out, you're welcome to pop down to get some from our studio. It's always worth sending us an email/message in advance to check someone is there.

  • Do you do walk-in days or offers for cheaper tattoos?
We try to have full-studio walk in days four times a year. Our individual artists may organise some extra ones in between, so keep an eye on our social media for updates. Our apprentice, Alina, has just started booking tattoos and is offering these at a much cheaper rate as she is still learning.

  • I've seen events advertised at your studio, what's that about?
We love having new people visiting and showing off our lovely studio! We also want everyone to know that there is a comfortable studio who accepts you for who you are available for if and when you decide to have a tattoo. In the past we have run successful book clubs, kink meet-ups, Dungeons and Dragons evenings and Pride events. We are always happy to host whenever possible, so feel free to email us if you think we could help you.

  • Do you do walk-in days?
Yes! We try to do a few walk-in days a year where you can turn up without a booking and get a tattoo. We always draw up special flash which you can choose from or you can bring your own small designs. Our tattoo walk-ins tend to get very busy, but we always make sure we have snacks, drinks and fun stuff to keep you entertained while you wait!

  • Is there anything you won't tattoo?
    Nazis :)
