Entrance

Here you can find information on the entrance to BluePunk Tattoo Studio.

The entrance is on the ground floor and has the BluePunk Tattoo blue heart logo on the central glass panel. When the sun is shining, it can be hard to see inside the studio due to the reflection on the glass, so it’s not always obvious if someone is inside.

There is no large handle but you can open the door by pullling the metal latch underneath the bottom keyhole towards you. You can also knock on the door and a staff member will come to greet you at the door if you prefer.

This is the street view of the main entrance.
Inside the Studio

Here you can find information on the layout of the rooms inside BluePunk Tattoo Studio.
The studio is open plan, so it has two main rooms which are not separated by doors, but have a small room between them. The room you enter through the front door is a reception room, where the reception desk and client seating is. Directly on the left as you enter the front door, there is a shoe and coat rack which you can use.

There is also a tattoo work station in the corner of this room which may be being used by one of our staff and their client when you enter.
If your artist work space is based in the second room, they will come to meet you in the reception area and guide you there.
The second room has three tattoo work stations. The maximum amount of people in this room at one time will usually be six.

This is the floor plan of the studio.
Sensory Stimuli

Here you can find information about sensory issues in the studio.
Sound
-
There is usually music playing in both of the main rooms at the studio. Please let your Tattoo Artist know if the music is too loud or you would prefer a quiet session and they will turn the music down or off. You are also welcome to bring headphones or earphones to wear while you are being tattooed.
-
The noise in the studio can sometimes be loud due to client/artist conversations. Please talk to your Tattoo Artist if you would prefer an appointment at a less busy time.
-
Our artists all use rotary tattoo machines, which emit a low buzz. They are much more quiet than traditional coil machines.
Light
-
The lights in the studio are bright so the artists can see their work clearly. Some lights can be turned off so the room is more dimly lit. You can ask your Tattoo Artist for the light to be dimmed, and you may want to bring sunglasses or an eyemask if this is likely to overwhelm you.
-
There is a neon light on the wall above the client sofa which emits a blue/purple light. Please tell your Tattoo Artist if you would like us to turn the neon light off.
Smell
-
The kitchen is not used for cooking food, but it is used for making coffee which may smell strong.
-
Sometimes artists and clients will bring or order food to eat at the studio. Usually these are eaten in the reception area, but the food smells may travel.
-
We advise all of our clients not to wear strong perfumes to their appointment.
-
Some of the soaps and disinfectants our artists use can have a strong smell.
Temperature
-
The temperature in the studio varies, so it can be a good idea to bring something to keep you warm (like extra socks or a small blanket) or something to keep you cool (like a handheld fan).

Reasonable Adjustments

Here you can find information about what reasonable adjustments your Tattoo Artist can do.
Disclosure
-
You do not need to disclose anything to your Tattoo Artist if you do not wish – however, if you do communicate any additional needs to your Tattoo Artist before your appointment, they will do their best to help make the experience easier for you.
Breaks
-
During your appointment, you can take a break if you feel overwhelmed or just need some space. Just let your Tattoo Artist know and they can stop tattooing and start again when you tell us you are ready.
Appointment times
-
Your tattoo does not have to be finished in one session, your Tattoo Artist can book shorter appointments for you if you wish.
-
Your Tattoo Artist can schedule an appointent for you when the studio is more likely to be quiet.
Fidget Toys
-
You are welcome to bring small fidget toys for stimming with you to your appointment. Something you can hold in your hand and that doesn't move your body too much is ideal.
Communication
-
Your Tattoo Artist will need to ask you some questions about the design and to occasionally check how you are feeling during the tattooing process. Apart from this, you can communicate with them as much or as little as you want. For example, it’s fine to wear headphones and listen to music or watch a show on your phone/tablet if you prefer.
-
You are welcome to visit the studio before your appointment so you can get to know the area, the studio layout and your Tattoo Artist.
-
You can always ask any Tattoo Artist at the studio for help. You can also email us at info@bluepunktattoo.com at any time with any questions or concerns you have.
